Funali - Sound Atlas ("the app") is provided free of charge and is intended for use as is. This page explains what information the app keeps, what it sends to third-party services, and the choices you have.
Everything you create in the app — your imported audio, song details, cover art, playlists, equaliser presets, and sound notes — is stored only on your device. We never upload, share, or sync it.
Information Stored on Your Device
The app keeps your library in its own storage on your device. Audio you import is copied into the app so it plays offline. If you choose cover art, the app asks for access to your photo library and reads only the photo you pick; the photo is stored with your library and is not uploaded. Deleting the app deletes all of this data.
Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Each one is governed by its own privacy policy:
- AdMob (Google) — advertising.
- Google Analytics for Firebase — usage statistics.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports.
- TMDB — film information and posters. When you browse or search the Cinema tab, the app requests film data from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- YouTube (Google) — trailer playback, through the official YouTube player and subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
Advertising and Tracking
The app shows ads through AdMob. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form asks for your choices before any ads are requested. On iOS, the app also asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Only if you allow tracking may AdMob use your device's advertising identifier to show more relevant ads; otherwise the ads you see are not personalised to you. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Log Data
If the app hits an error, data and information may be collected on your device through third-party products ("Log Data"). Log Data may include your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app, the time and date of your use, and other statistics. Log Data never includes your audio, playlists, presets, or sound notes.
App Updates
When it starts, the app may check our update server for a newer version of its content. That request carries the app version and an app-specific device identifier (not the advertising identifier). It contains none of your audio, playlists, presets, or sound notes.
Cookies
Cookies are small data files commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. The app itself does not use cookies. The embedded YouTube player and the advertising and analytics services above may use cookies or similar technologies, as described in their own privacy policies.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties may have access to the information described above in order to perform the tasks assigned to them, and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Security
Your library is kept in the app's own storage on your device, protected by the security of iOS. We use commercially acceptable means to protect the information that is sent to the services above, but no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
The app may contain links to other sites. If you follow a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. These external sites are not operated by us, so we strongly advise you to review their privacy policies. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so that we can take the necessary steps.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please review this page periodically. Any changes are posted on this page and take effect when they are posted.
